LEGAL LABOR NEWS: CHANGE IN NATIONAL HOLIDAYS IN HONDURAS

We inform you that Decree 75-2014, was published in the Official Gazette of Honduras on the 29th of September 2014, issued by the National Congress on September 10, 2014 which establishes in a mandatory matter, to move holidays to October 3rd, Commemoration of the birth of Francisco Morazán, October 12th, Columbus Day, and October 21st, Day of the Armed Forces to the corresponding dates of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the last week of October for public employees and from Wednesday noon until Saturday noon for the private sector.

The initiative seeks to encourage domestic tourism, and according to sources from the General Directorate of Tourism, the mobilization of a million Hondurans is expected.
