The first edition of the Latin American Energy and Infrastructure Awards, which took place the 24th of October in Mexico City, aimed to highlight experts in this sector and reward their excellence and achievement through the presentation of emblematic cases from different legal firms in Latin America. The Latin America Lawyer, through its legal magazine constantly seeks to expose the excellence of lawyers from companies from different parts of the world.
Our partner in Nicaragua, Bertha Argüello, was recognized as "Lawyer of the Year in the Finance Sector". She has a long trajectory in the legal profession focused in banking, finance, regulatory, mining, mergers and acquisitions, labor, among others; for local and international corporations. She recently coordinated the incorporation and start of operations of a major financial institution in Nicaragua. According to the legal magazine, she has built an excellent reputation in the market for her "client-centrered approach". She studied law in Costa Rica and is authorized to practice as lawyer and notary public in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, and holds a master’s degree in Law at Harvard Law School, Cambridge.
Our team in Costa Rica was also nominated for their numerous success cases in arbitration, receiving the award of "Law Firm of the Year in Litigation and Arbitration", highlighting the international case of Patron Spirits Company in New York, led by Carlos Camacho (Partner) and his team: German Rojas and Rolando García (Senior Associates) and Estefanía Batalla (Associate).
