A financing agreement was signed between Fondo para el Financiamiento de la Educación (HEFF) and Lafise Bank in Honduras, for the amount of $ 4 million to provide affordable student loans for higher education.
Fondo para el Financiamiento de la Educación (HEFF) is a pilot fund of $34 million that meets the need of higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean through microfinance institutions (MFIs) located in Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic. The Fund grants access to raise those segments of the population who have motivation and intellectual ability education, but who are excluded from public universities and / or scholarship programs and do not count with the financial resources to pay for this education. HEFF provides funding and technical assistance to MFIs who in return will offer student loans under appropriate conditions, that make the product feasible and appropriate for students.
Arias & Muñoz Honduras was part of a loan agreement betweenLafise Bank and HEFF of $4 million. The contract was signed by Juan Carlos Pereira Del Vecchio, General Manager at HEFF and Alejandro Alfonso Ramírez Callejas, General Manager at Lafise Bank, with the presence of Claudia Midence, Associate at Arias & Muñoz.
